Okay @Senneferet. Stay safe and perhaps Khonsu can be of assistance this month? X
Ah, of course! I will be checking in towards the end of the month for GOTM club. X
How is everyone doing? Its not looking great down here in Kent right now which is concerning.
Not too bad. I actually enjoy the lockdowns because I am incredibly introverted. I do miss sitting in cafes and taking baby to groups though. I’m getting nervous about these new Christmas rules. Of course, I want to see family but I am classed as vulnerable. Family is visiting over the holidays, other members want to be included in our festivities…all of them have contact with the super spreaders aka children. We’ve also got a student heading home who had COVID a few months ago. I shall have to wear a hazmat suit whilst peeling sprouts!
I understand the concerns. Shared by us down here. We won’t be changing our activities even if it upsets family!
I’m ok thanks. I’m not completely sure what we’re doing at Christmas, but I imagine we will spend time with a small group of family. Probably will have our Christmas meal at home.
I’m still working in the office, but have to wear a mask walking around the building now. Being in the office provides some sense of normality and I need to be here at least for the time being.
Family free time is chill out time and we concentrate on looking after our ourselves and our home.
How’s everyone getting on in post Christmas lockdown/semi lockdown?
The lockdown part of it is fine but the New Year, as I predicted, has not brought sudden good fortune. I’ve been having some trouble with my knee for some time but assumed I needed to lose some weight and exercise more. On new years day I was pottering around the kitchen when a severe pain shot through my knee. I now cant put much weight on my left leg and am in a fair bit of pain. Sods law as husband is back in the office tomorrow after a ten day holiday, leaving me with a very active toddler!
Sorry to hear about your pain! Aw toddlers are little bundles of joy and tornados lol.
I’ve tested positive for Covid-19 today, but my family have no symptoms. Work has been asking us to get tested over the past week.
We’ve been working from home since Monday.
Oh gosh! That must be so scary, even without symptoms. Wrap up snuggly and stay safe x
Thanks. Today has been a crazy day!
Had a couple of days off work (though still had two weeks left to use up which I’ve lost now). Only a slight increase in the amount of choc consumption, very little drink as not in the mood, otherwise I wouldn’t have noticed tbh. I’ve never been into xmas and the new year stuff, not a part of anything important to me so its just a slow time. Back to work this week, but again, I wouldn’t really notice the difference to the weirdness of the past year
Had to self isolate the two weeks before end of term due to my eldest’s year group at school having covid but we didn’t show any signs. Sorry to hear of all your issues. I hope they all work out!
We have had lots of choc and drink consumption over Christmas! My kids were very excited, which made it special.
Always nice to have time off work.
I’ve definitely noticed an increase in Covid-19 and people self-isolating.
I’m glad I’m working from home now… Although it does make my job a bit more of a challenge in some ways.
Yeah I really hope those idiots who still think its a hoax and continue to party and spread things get over it quickly and most importantly the government actually do what it is advised to do. I really don’t see this improving until late summer atm. Hang in there folks…
Thankfully we still don’t have any symptoms in my household! The silver lining is that we have some immunity to Covid-19. But, who knows, we may have had it before and not realised.
I reckon the UK will go into tighter restrictions this winter. However, I think if we stay the way we are, most of the population would have had Covid-19 by the summer.
I’ve read that the majority of people are asymptomatic if they get Covid-19, but of course you don’t know how your own body will respond to the virus and to which strain of it.
On the plus side, I’m glad we seem to be having a ‘proper winter’ this year with temperatures below freezing. Perhaps the planet has been having respite from the usual amount of pollution.
Or should I say that Geb has been having respite
How is everyone doing? Had my jab last week, kids back at school (though second week one year group in isolation), and the weather is picking up. Still don’t think much will change for us for some months but looking forward to getting back on the water the most.
Kev
Hi kev,
I’m well thanks. Busy with work etc. Keeping up with the Netjeru where I can. I am so glad we’re in Spring. Can’t wait for the warmer weather. I’m enjoying the sunshine.
I’m glad you’ve had your first jab!
I’m fed up with lockdown!
Yeah it has been a long winter. My wife managed to go for a sea swim last weekend and might try again tomorrow if the weather is much the same as today. Still not sure how much ‘normal’ will return this year. Let’s hope something at least. Look after yourselves!
Crazy lady… Going for sea swim at this time of year! Haha. I’ll be waiting until summertime.
Yes, after that long winter I’ll be out in the sunshine as much as possible.
I hope next winter won’t be as dire as the last one.
